The Cologne Zoo Park, considered as Cologne's Animal Kingdom, has more than 7,000 animals of 500 species from all continents and oceans of the world.

Experience the elephants in the new Elefantenpark, which is the largest elephant enclosure north of the Alps.

Or meet the closest relatives face to face inside the Urwaldhaus (Jungle House) for great apes. Feel the heat and humidity of the jungle in the south-east Asian Regenwald (Rain Forest).

Dive into the world of coral-reefs and cichlids and let yourself be fascinated with the varieties of reptiles, amphibians and insects.

The gardens were landscaped in 1863 according to designs by Peter Josef Lenné and Joseph Maria Olbrich. The botanical garden was added in 1914. He is Germany's third oldest Zoo Park.

The site, which was destroyed during the Second World War, was restored completely and now has a stock of plants including approx. 12,000 species.

The Cologne Zoo is located in Riehler Straße, directly adjacent to the Botanic Gardens.

Now that we've visited some sweet animals, let's take a look at the Cologne Stadium...
