In the year 2006, it was one of the twelve venues of the Fifa World Cup 2006™ in Germany.
These days, in the Rheinenergie-Stadium, soccer, live concerts of world famous singers as well as American football is being played. The crew of Cologne Centurions delivers here its home matches in the NFL Europe.
You are going to find the FC Museum in the north grandstand of the stadium, in which the history of the 1. FC Köln is introduced.
Since the original building, the Stadium is surrounded by other sports facilities such as several soccer fields, a cycle track, an open-air swimming pool, the training area of the ASV Köln (athletik club) as well as the area of the world famous German Sport Academy.
