East Berlin — Without the Berlin Wall!
Formerly called East Berlin and nowadays Eastern Center, it is located in Berlin Mitte.
Touring around the well-known boulevard Unter den Linden is worth the pain of claimed feet.
Here you will find some of the most interesting historic buildings of the city, like the "Zeughaus," the "Nationaloper" (National Opera), the "Humboldt Universität" (Humboldt University) and, of course, the "Brandenburger Tor" (Brandenburg Gate).
Do not miss the "Friedrichstraße" Avenue. It has a mixture of modern buildings and historic facades. The "Gendarmenmarkt" with the two cathedrals and the concert building is one of the most picturesque places of the city.
I also recommend to visit the "Oranienburger Straße." Here you will find the New Synagogue with its golden dome. This street also offers a huge number of scenic stores, bars, pubs, and restaurants.
Sincerely,
