With a population of about 3,400,000 inhabitants, Berlin is the largest City in Germany. It is 38 kilometers long and 45 kilometres wide. Consider that this city has a lot of suburbs and destricts.

Don't forget that it was divided in its history. You will still recognize that there was an East-Berlin and West-Berlin destrict, so it now has a "City East" and a "City West".

First, you should consider putting your car elsewhere than downtown, and using the public transportation. Otherwise you are going to hate the traffic jams wink (and expensive parking rates).

Then, go ahead and buy the Berlin WelcomeCard (offered at the Tourism Offices, in many hotels, and at all the S-Bahn and U-Bahn offices). Why? Simply because you'll have free travel on all buses and trains of the public transport network (within the A, B and C fare zones) in Berlin.

It is valid for one adult and up to three children (below the age of fourteen) for either 48 hours (16,- EUR) or 72 hours (22,- EUR). That's cheap, isn't it? Considering you would otherwise use expensive car parks to store your car, and petrol/gasoline, and eventually car rentals. Additionally, the WelcomeCard includes a coupon-booklet which saves you money by receiving discounts on over 120 highlights (sight-seeing, museums, venues, clubs, restaurants, fitness and wellness facilities, and shopping-areas).

Additionally #2, the city has no regulated closing times for bars. That said, a typical night starts off in a cosy bar and ends in the wee hours at one of the many whipping parties.

Also, you mustn't forget to try the local delicacy, Currywurst (fried sausage in curry ketchup), the classic fast-food speciality. Berlin also boasts a traditional drink "Berliner Weiße." Particularly refreshing in summer when relaxing in one of the many beer gardens or street cafés.
