Hamburg Stadtpark — Green Oasis With Planetarium
Is playing Frisbee, ballgames, picnicking, and open-air swimming what you like? Then explore the city's green lung — the Hamburg Stadtpark with Planetarium.
The big lawn in the Stadtpark invites you to rest, sunbathe, and play with a view of the Planetarium in the background.
In fine weather, the Hamburg Stadtpark (located in Winterhude) is frequented by joggers, hobby footballers, sun worshippers, cyclists, and groups of friends chilling out. If you're the sporty type, you can do your lengths in the open-air pool or hire a rowing boat.
If you're lucky, Xavier Naidoo or Morcheeba (German singer) might just be playing on the open-air stage and the balmy wind will waft the music over, completely free of charge.
Hamburg Planetarium
The Planetarium, which stands in the middle of the Stadtpark, offers entertaining and exciting lectures as well as an informative exhibition all about the subject of astronomy.
Built in 1912 as a Water Tower, 1930 it became a Planetarium.
Go there and you can experience space past and future, sunning and lunar eclipses, north lights, meteors and space travel effects.
After this relaxing and fresh garden, let us walk further to some water — the beautiful Alster Lake.
