Dortmund Adlerturm — Eagle Tower
The Dortmund Adlerturm (Eagle Tower) is a reconstructed tower of the medieval city wall in Dortmund
Germany.
In 1992, over the original foundations of the former military tower this "new" building had been established.
The 30 meters high tower was set on columns in order to keep the foundations of the original Eagle Tower from the 14th century and the adjacent city wall from the 13th century.
On six floors, the tower accommodates an exhibition to the medieval urban history. You can see excavation finds of the urban history of old Dortmund.
A model of the medieval city and contemporary representations illustrate the appearance of Dortmund in the process of the past centuries. Weapons and objects from the time of the Dortmunder Fehde (fights in 1388-1389) are to be seen likewise.
It's located in Ostwall 51a — Telephone +49-231-50-26028
Medieval and beautiful. Now we go up to the TV Tower...
