  • Spielbank Bad Reichenhall
  • Spielbank Berlin (Alexanderplatz and Potsdamer Platz)
  • Spielbank Bremen
  • Spielbank Dortmund
  • Casino Schenefeld (Hamburg)
  • Spielbank Hannover
  • Spielbank Casino Kiel
  • Spielbank Mainz
  • Spielbank Osnabrüi>
  • Spielbank Potsdam
  • Spielbank Saarbü/li>
  • Spielbank Schwerin
  • Spielbank Stuttgart
  • Spielbank Wiesbaden

If you think .I know what casinos are like . I.ve been in Las Vegas. then you will be up for a surprise. Yes, German casinos do offer the same games, apply the same game rules and the house edge is the same as well. The biggest difference between German and American casinos is that you cannot enter a casino for free with a t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops on.

First of all, most German casinos are not for free. You have to pay an entrance fee to get in. The average entrance fee is between 3. and 5.. A lot of casinos have promotions for new customers. Some let you in for free the first time you come. Others make you pay the first visit and let you in for free the next time. For those of you who plan to come on regular basis to Germany, you might as well get a season pass for the casino of your choice.

If you wonder how the casino knows if it is your first or second time visiting the casino . they keep track of their customers. When you enter the casino and pay the entrance fee, they first check your identification card or passport to see if you are of legal age. The legal age in Germany for gambling is 18. If you are of legal age, they save your basic personal information . like name, surname, date of birth and home country . in there database. This has to do with that casino in Germany are highly government controlled or in some cases even government owned. So most of the revenue a casino makes goes towards taxes, but personal winnings of customers are tax free. But in Germany they do not just check your age, they also check the clothes you are wearing. Men are required to wear a tie, dress shirt, formal jacket, long pants and shoes. The major German casinos loan you a tie and a formal jacket for a small fee, but you do have to wear one. They don.t have specific rules for women clothing. Just don.t wear a t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flops.

Casinos in Germany are more upscale. Drinks are not for free either. You do have to pay for your drinks and they cost more than average. The good thing is that tipping is not expected. German waitresses do not derive most of their income from tips.

The three major games in German casinos are Roulette, Blackjack and Poker. Roulette is by far the most popular casino game in Germany. The odds on roulette are much better in German casinos than in American roulette. American roulette has two green slots (neither red nor black wins if it lands on green), while German roulette has just one green slot. Note that some German casinos offer American roulette with a smaller minimum bet than their regular games. Blackjack is almost as popular as Roulette. The minimum bet at Blackjack tables differ, but they can be as high as 10 €.

Poker is by far the most popular online casino game in Germany. The German online poker scene has many communities like de.pokertips.org. Poker is in Germany more popular online than in casinos because in general players have a better proposition in online poker rooms than in German casinos. Some casinos in Germany rake as much as 10% up to .20 from their poker games. Not only is the rake huge, but it also slows down the games since it takes dealers a while to calculate exactly 4% of the pot. Also, German casinos and poker rooms are much smaller. One could expect more waiting involved as a result.
